McAfee Top Issues

1. Summary: Some users have experienced a loss of Internet connectivity after updating on July 30th.

Solution
Run McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) and reinstall

2. Some customers are experiencing issues after recent McAfee product updates. To resolve these issues, you must run the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR2.exe), and then reinstall your McAfee products

Solution.

.Download and run the McAfee Removal tool
Download the removal tool from https://us.mcafee.com/root/MCPR2.exe.
If you receive a security alert, click Yes.
Click Save and save the file to any folder on the computer.
Navigate to the folder where the file is saved.
Make sure all McAfee application windows are closed.
Double-click MCPR2.exe to run the removal tool.Note: Windows Vista users must right-click and select Run as Administrator.

Restart your computer when prompted. Your McAfee products will not be fully removed until you restart. All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.
If you receive an error that MCPR2 is already running, follow the steps below:
Click Start, Run, type tasks and click OK.

Right-click McAfee Cleanup in the list of tasks and select Delete.
You should now be able to run MCPR2 successfully.
Reinstall your McAfee Products

3. Summary: This message is erroneous. You are still protected, but it is possible that not all products have updated successfully.

Solution
Option 1 - Click update to resolve this issue
Right-click the M icon in the system tray.
Select Update.
Restart the computer when prompted.
Option 2 - Run McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) and reinstall

4. Summary: Using High Contrast causes some text to be cut off in the Trusted & Banned IPs and System Services screens.Summary:

Description
If Windows XP is configured to use High Contrast under Accessibility Options, the text descriptions for Trusted & Banned IPs and System Services is incomplete due to the window size.

Solution
McAfee is investigating this issue and will update this FAQ when a solution become available.
As a workaround, you can temporarily disable High Contrast using the following instructions:
From the Start menu, click Settings, Control Panel, Accessibility Options.
Click the Display tab, and deselect Use High Contrast. .

6.Password Vault buttons are missing text when 'Show Pictures' is disabled in Internet Explorer properties

Solution
Turn on 'Show Pictures' in Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer, click on Tools and select Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab and scroll down to Multimedia.
Check the box next to Show Pictures.
Click OK.

7.A blank window is displayed after McAfee consumer product installation

Solution
Terminate the process (Windows XP only)
Right-click the task bar and choose Task Manager.
In the task manager dialog box, select the Process tab.
Right-click the INSTALL.EXE process and select End Process.
Click Yes on the Task Manager Warning dialog.
Restart your computer.

8." Application configuration module stopped working"

Install MSxml3 and Msxml 4 from Microsoft.
if it is Vista uninstall last security update.
